What will I need to bring when I hire?

You will need to bring your driving license (both parts) and a further proof of address. You will need a valid credit or debit card to pay at least the deposit.

How much deposit must I leave?

Our standard deposit is £50.00. This may need to be increased depending upon our terms and conditions.

How old do I have to be to hire? You can hire from 25-65 years.

We can hire to you from 21 years with a larger deposit to cover the increased insurance excess.

What if I have not got my license with me?

We can telephone the DVLA when you arrive and they will give us all the details we need. This is not a free service and we have to charge you £5.00 to do this.

What if I have points on my license?

We can hire to you without restriction if you have 6 points or less. We may be able to hire with a higher deposit if you have more. We will have to contact our insurers for confirmation at the time of hire.

What if I have been convicted of a more serious offence or banned?

We cannot hire to you for 5 years from the date of the offence if you have an IN10 (No insurance), DR10 (Drink or drugs) or TT99 (totting up). There are unfortunately no exceptions to this.

What if my license is not in my current address?

You will need to bring 2 proofs of your current address and pay for a DVLA check (£5.00).

Can I drive using a foreign license?

You can drive using most EEC countries and many other international licences. Please telephone us to confirm your is acceptable.

How long must I have held a licence?

You must have been driving for a minimum of 1 year.

Are there any mileage restrictions?

Our vans include unlimited mileage, otherwise we allow 100 miles per day on a daily rate, 250 for a weekend or 500 miles per week. Extra miles can be arranged at the time of hire.

Is insurance included?

Yes, our rates include fully comprehensive cover.

What is the insurance excess?

Age 21-25 £750.00 26 upwards is £500.00 except where CDW is taken out.

Can I lower the excess?

If you pay for Collision damage waiver (£5.00 per day minimum £15.00) then the excess is lowered to the value of your deposit.

Is VAT included?

Yes, all our rentals include VAT except van and commercial vehicle hire which is quoted exclusive of VAT.

Can I include additional drivers?

Yes subject our normal terms and conditions. There is a charge of £10.00 per additional driver

What happens if I get a speeding fine whilst hiring?

We will inform the relevant authority that you were the driver at the time of hire and they will contact you directly. There is an administration charge of £25.00 plus VAT for this.

How do I pay congestion charges?

You must pay it in the normal way as if the car was your own. If you fail to pay we will pay it on your behalf and charge the cost plus an administration fee to your credit/debit card.

What if I damage the car?

You will be charged according to the schedule of charges on display at our office. Where CDW has been taken this will be capped at the deposit amount.

Is breakdown cover included?

Yes. All of our vehicles are covered by manufacturers breakdown.

Can I take the vehicle abroad?

Yes, provided you notify us at the time of hire. You will need to take out Europeen insurance cover (Green card) at a cost of £15.00. We also insist that full breakdown cover is in force. We can arrange this for you at a typical cost of around £45.00.
